Walk 2014

Hi All!  Summer is flying by and we are gearing up for our Walk to Believe, 2014 at Pinafore Park in St Thomas. The walk will be on September 27th, 2014 with registration at 10am and walk starting at 11am.   We will have live music, a speech from LHSC and a group photo as well as breakfast and snacks at the park. Walk 2013

Hi All!  Our 10th annual walk is fast approaching!  This year, on Steve’s 35th birthday we will hold our 1oth annual walk for ALS.  The walk will be held this year at Pinafore Park in St Thomas and will begin at 11am with registration at 10am.  Please bring your kids, pets, family and friends as this year is a huge celebration for the Believe Army.  As you know, most people with ALS only live 3-5 years – Steve is in the 4% of people with ALS that survive for over 10 years.  His survival and positive attitude is 100% because of […]

London Health Sciences Centre’s Dr. Mike Strong chips a shot Thursday during the 8th Annual ALS Open at St. Thomas Golf and Country Club. Walk 2012

Our 5th walk in St Thomas for ALS research at LHSC will be held again at beautiful Pinafore park in St Thomas, ON. The walk will take place on September 29th, 2012 with registration at 10am and the walk at 11am. Following the walk, please join us at the Midtown Tavern for a luncheon and Believe Army Pilsner!

Golf Update 2012

This year, we were able to again raise over $9000 for ALS research and patient care at our 8th Annual Believe Open at the St. Thomas Golf and Country Club. Over 140 golfers came out and braved the wind and rain to raise funds, and have fun in the name of the Believe Army. Next year’s tournament will be held on August 8th, 2013 at the St Thomas Golf and Country Club.


Believe Army mobilizes in fight against ALS

Wherever you find a major soccer game this season, chances are you’ll find the Believe Army at the same location. The Believe Army are the dedicated volunteers that come out to support the challenge to find a cure for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. They’ll be recognizable by a special tent they’ll be using and an impressive array of Believe Army gear. The Believe Army also supports Steve Barber, who at 25, was diagnosed with ALS in 2004. ALS Fundraiser Saturday

He’s been the face of ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease for St. Thomas residents for quite some time now. Steve Barber who sufferers from the disease is involved in many events throughout the year to promote awareness and fundraising to find a cure. A sports fan himself Barber, his family and friends will host a hockey night at Legends Bar and Grill this Saturday.
